Of course doing God's will is always a good idea. But most equate that with "doing good" in general, and we know how that turned out from the garden experience with Adam.

Nothing really deep about that, since God created us to "do good" (virtue of His own). The real question is, what happened and what Jesus means in that equation. It's the same question Jesus asked "Who do men say that I am?"

Council of Nicea clarified that a bit more for us, but most Christians (mainly evangelicals) aren't even aware of that, even though some, let me stress "some", confess the Trinity as part of their beliefs, which are also part of their understanding.

The further question is how does a Christian explain their faith when they don't even know it well enough to articulate between themselves.....or maybe I'm just missing something......

Good post...however, you forgot to mention that one thing (that is scaring you to death) God is calling you to do while you run the race. And by the way, I sure do love you and "Mrs. Cantankerous!"
